Intent: The Hidden Power of Speech

21 Sep

Last night, I posted my first YouTube video, and while I was hoping to share a relaxation technique with others that I find useful, I also learned a lesson from it myself.

In the video, there’s background music, but for the first six minutes or so, I’m talking.  First, I’m explaining the process, then I’m guiding the listener through it.  While listening to it post-production, I noticed a jarring difference between my voice (and its effect) when I switched from ‘instructing’ mode into ‘guiding’ mode.

The Kindness Blog – A Must-Read!

15 Aug

Today, I had the pleasure of coming across another blog that focused on kindness.  It is called simply The Kindness Blog.  If you have not had the good fortune to come across this blog as of yet, I highly recommend following it, for the convenience of having ‘feel good’ moments at your fingertips.

I found the following video on that blog, which brought me to tears (and not for the first time, while reading the posts on this blog).  The post on The Kindness Blog can be found here, but I really wanted to share this video with everyone.

The song used in the video is pretty awesome, too.

I hope you all pay a little visit to the people over at The Kindness Blog, because they really are doing a spectacular job of spreading kindness to the world.
