Edit Results (Part 2)

24 Aug

I also snatched a picture yesterday to edit. I didn’t want to use any that I couldn’t let people know I’d used (random pics from people who I don’t follow & vice versa), so, Angela, I hope you don’t mind that I also took the liberty of editing one of the photos you posted here. If you like it, feel free to download it, or if you  would prefer me to email it to you, just let me know.  (On the other hand, if you hate it and would prefer I take it down, I’ve got no problem doing that, either!)

Pity Party Inside (and free photo edit offer)

Okay, so, I wrote the following long, whiny, self-pitying post just because I can… but at the end, I came up with something to take my mind off of my ‘despair’ and that was to edit other people’s photos, because I find it to be fun to do.  My request to you is, if you have a picture of someone (yourself, your kid, whatever), I’d like to edit it for you.  I’ll edit them/it, and post a few on my blog with before/afters.  You might love it, or you might hate it, and either way is okay.  IF anyone decides to take me up on my offer, just let me know where to find the picture… I’m just going to go randomly copy people’s pictures and edit them, anyway, so why not get in on the action?  ^_^  (If you like it, you’re more than welcome to copy/keep/reuse it however you like… I’ve been considering offering this for a small fee at some point in the future, so if you’re curious what I can do, here’s your chance to get it for free)

*******

Some days I just get so angry.  I feel completely retarded (Note that I’m using this as a verb, not a noun.  Look it up.) by everything and nothing at all.  There’s so MANY things I want to do, see, experience, learn… but can’t.  Sometimes it’s because of money, sometimes it’s because of time, sometimes it’s because of other people, but some days it always seems that there is nothing I can do to make things better.

I mean, I try.  I try very hard to do things to help, to improve my ‘lot in life’ so to speak, but nothing ever seems to work.

Some days, the frustration just takes over, and I’m angry.  Impotently angry, but angry nonetheless.  I say impotently angry, because nothing I do as a result of my anger works, either.  Continue reading

The Sentence For Committing Acts of Kindness? Good Karma

kindness lane

Kindness is one of the few things that rarely happen accidentally.  Being unintentionally nice to someone else just isn’t one of those things that occur.  Sure, sometimes you’re driving a little slow and some yahoo pulls out in front of you, then waves like you’ve just done him a favor, or you stop to give one last check down your grocery list and some woman dashes into the line you were aiming for then turns and says thank you but, in general, kindness is a deliberate, intentional act that we make a conscious effort to perform.

UN-kindness, on the other hand, is often performed unconsciously.  Many times we are rude, hurtful, and inconsiderate without even registering that it has occurred.  The woman walking into Macy’s in front of you didn’t deliberately shut the door in your face, it just didn’t occur to her to hold it open for you.  That guy on the freeway didn’t deliberately block you from merging into traffic, it never occurred to him to let you over in the first place.

So often, and I am guilty of this myself, we instantaneously assume that the other person is deliberately being inconsiderate but, more often than not, that’s not the case at all.  As technology has increased, so has our level of self-containment.  As everything around us speeds up, our ability to keep up has decreased, forcing our attention to the next appointment, the next errand, the next thing that has to get done, leaving little room in our thoughts for the here and now, which includes the people who are in that here and now with us.  We’ve stopped seeing people as neighbors, and started seeing them as obstacles, slowing us down in the sojourn from point A to point B. Thank you

Thank you (Photo credit: Avard Woolaver)

I’d like to send out a little thank you to all of my subscribers, as well as those of you who stopped by my blog yesterday for a visit.  You really made my day!  Thanks to you all, yesterday was a record high for Free, Fun or Interesting, surpassing my previous ‘Best Ever Views’ by nearly 35%  and the number of followers is also at a record high.  I will spare you the reenactment of the happy dance I did when I saw my stats this morning.

I truly appreciate all of you taking the time to read and/or comment, and for putting up with a plethora of subject matter.  The fact that you guys put up with my special brand of crazy really means a lot to me, and I hope that, even though my topics are all over the map, you continue to find something worth reading here for a long time to come!

Thanks again, and you all are awesome!

Free Money – Swagbucks

Amazon Gift Cards

Today I’m going to blog about the ‘Free’ part of my ‘Free, Fun or Interesting’ blog.  Specifically, free money.  Now, we all could use a little free cash, but most of us don’t bother because we believe it’s a scam.  Well, today I’m going to discuss Swagbucks, and its use to get free money.

I don’t have a ‘real’ job, so I can spend my time fiddling around on the internet, finding various things to do, and one of those things is to try to make some money to buy Christmas and Birthday gifts for my better half, because how crappy is it to get a gift, but know you had to pay for it, so it’s really not a gift at all?  It’s more like, “Surprise! I spent your money on a gift for you, and used your money to buy tape and wrapping paper, and you’re probably not going to like it, but it’s the thought that counts, right? (Sucker)”

I signed up for Swagbucks ages ago, but found it difficult to earn them, so gave up on it.  Recently, I decided to give them another shot, so I reset my password (yeah, it had been so long, I’d forgotten the original one), and, although it’s not a lot, I’ve made an average of about Continue reading

Doomed To Fail…

Did you know…

  • 60 – 80% of all new blogs are abandoned within the first month of creation?
  • that the average blog has no more than two dozen readers?
  • in 2012, the same survey showed only 8% of bloggers earn enough to support a family?

‘Then why bother starting this blog?’ you might ask.  Not that you did ask, but since you might, allow me to tell you.

I’m starting this blog because:

A.) I can.

B.) I have nothing better to do.

C.) Like all new blogs, I’d eventually like to Continue reading
